JOB PURPOSE
- To assist with the serving of breakfast, lunch, and dinner to personnel assigned to take meals in the Crew Mess Room.
- To clean and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the Crew Mess Room and adjoining areas.
- Providing waitering and dining services in crew areas when required.
- Serving crew in a courteous friendly manner.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To assist with the service of all meals in the Crew Mess Dining Room including waitering services.
- To transport used (soiled) dishes from the Crew Dining Room to the Dishwash area and return.
- To keep the Dining Room clean and always sanitized.
- Perform all duties in accordance with MSC Sanitation Standards.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
- Fluent in oral and written English, knowledge of any other major language is considered a major advantage.
- Fluent in oral and written English, knowledge of any other major language is considered a major advantage.
- High school graduate.
- Minimum 12 months 5-star hotel or restaurant service (excluding Job Training).
- At least one completed satisfactory contract in a similar position on a cruise vessel.
- Proven working knowledge of the operation of a high volume, high-class restaurant.
- Good understanding of the correct use of cleaning chemicals in food areas.
- Able to work efficiently at high speed, in a partly unsupervised environment.
- Physically fit to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 Kg.
VISA & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid passport (at least with 6 months validity before joining);
- STCW95/2010 certification (basic firefighting, personal survival techniques, elementary first aid, personal security and social responsibility, security awareness, passenger ship familiarization) it’s compulsory before joining the vessel;
- Good Health declaration (released by a recognized doctor) it’s mandatory before joining the vessel.
