JOB PURPOSE

While establishing a friendly relationship with guests, the Assistant Waiter support the Waiter in providing excellent and professional dining service to guests.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE

  • Helps the Waiter in the assigned station at any restaurant, including the buffet area acting as Buffet Attendant;
  • Carries ordered dishes from the kitchen to the station;
  • Carries back the kitchen dishes, glassware, and silverware;
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the Waiter’s station, tables and chairs, carpet and fixtures;
  • Places all china, glassware, and silverware in the station;
  • Reports immediately any problems and guests’ complaints to their direct supervisor.

 

SKILLS-SET NEEDED

  • Fluent English, oral and written. Any additional European language is considered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French);
  • Experience in 4/5 star restaurant, hotel or resort is an advantage;
  • Good interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and willingness to learn;
  • Passion for hospitality and customer service driven;
  • Cruise industry experience is an advantage;
  • A recognized medical certification is required before starting to work on board.

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a valid passport and seaman book.
