JOB PURPOSE

The primary responsibility of the Barista is to provide quality and luxurious service to the guests that consistently and effectively reflects the luxurious nature of the company.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE

  • Ensure guest satisfaction by delivering a quality beverage experience.
  • Ensure that the Barista bar is properly stocked, set up, and open as scheduled.
  • Possess knowledge of deep cleaning procedures of the espresso machine in Barista.
  • Prepare beverages according to guest preferences and in line with company policy and procedures.
  • Ensure that personnel assigned to work as baristas are well trained to ensure good stock control.
  • Supervise the Barista bar personnel.
  • Monitor inventories and equipment for shortages and damages.
  • Possess full knowledge of standard coffees, garnishes, and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with the company alcohol policy.
  • Ensure the logging of all fridge, freezer, and dishwasher temperatures in beverage venues.
  • Conduct regular spot checks of all espresso machines onboard to ensure they are working efficiently.
  • Keeping self-aware of targets, costs, and monitoring procedures.
  • Prepare custom declarations as requested.
  • Possess job and product knowledge, including knowledge of cocktail recipes, wine lists, and bar set-ups.
  • Possess full knowledge of current U.S.P.H rules and regulations and maintain U.S.P.H standards at all times.
  • Ensure that the assigned location is up to U.S.P.H. standards.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures are followed.
  • Assist with loading or provisions when required.
  • Attend any stand-by for USPH purposes.

 

SKILLS-SET NEEDED

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Communicate effectively with the senior management.
  • Possess the ability to lead and make decisions.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Experienced in coaching subordinates.
  • Must be cost and quality conscious.
  • Adhere to specific scheduled work hours, yet be flexible if circumstances require it.
  • Experience and/or training in the hospitality field.
  • Fluency in additional language(s)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a valid passport and seaman book.
