JOB PURPOSE
In line with the department guidelines and under the supervision of the Shore Excursion Manager, the Shore Excursion Manager Assistant supervises operations and coaches team members in order to generate the highest revenue from the sale of shore excursions in every port of call, while delivering optimum customer service.
SCOPE OF ROLE
- Supports the Shore Excursion Manager in supervising the Shore Excursion Hostess’ activity.
- Ensures implementations of Standard Procedure Manual with regards to shore excursions activities.
- Ensures high standards of service are delivered in regards to excursions’ bookings and sales, private shore activities, and disembarkation arrangements.
- Provides guests with ports and tours information.
- Handles guests’ complaints and queries.
- Assists the Shore Excursion Manager in administrative tasks.
SKILLS-SET NEEDED
- Fluent English, oral and written, and 3 additional European languages are required (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French).
- High School certificate.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the tourism industry or in customer-facing roles.
- Previous experience in the cruise industry is a strong advantage.
- Experience in complaints management and selling techniques;
- Computer Literacy, knowledge of Publisher and Fidelio is an advantage.
- A recognized medical certification is required before starting to work on board.
TRAVEL DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a valid passport and seaman book.
